A Vision of the Future.

Vision is important for without it, the pursuit of dream would never be accomplished. In the spring of 2003, Dr. Dan Reed wanted to look into the future and determine what God might do through the ministry of Harvest Baptist Church. With that in mind, he sat down and developed a ten year plan of what he wanted to see accomplished for God. One element of that plan was to establish an academic training center beyond high school that would allow adults in the church as well as juniors and seniors in Harvest Baptist School to gain in personal Bible knowledge. Thus, North Atlanta School of the Bible (NASB) began in the fall of 2003. The program was enhanced with a Certificate of Achievement to those students completing a prescribed two-year curriculum awarded through Crown College in Powell, Tennessee. NASB has been a success in its original goals.

In the summer of 2007, NASB had the opportunity to extend itself even further and offer a greater service to students, not only in our church and school but to the surrounding fundamental churches, as well, by becoming an extension of Atlanta Baptist College, Stockbridge, Georgia, more properly, Atlanta Baptist College North. In this association, the school would be able to offer college credit to those in pursuit of a degree or desiring to gain college credit. This is especially attractive to high school students as these credits would be transferable to other Christian colleges in the southeast.

All instructors at ABCN are college graduates with some obtaining advanced degrees. Most have served full-time as pastors, missionaries, or Christian school teachers. Our present program director, Rev. George Logan, has pastored churches in Kansas, Iowa, and Alabama. He and his wife, Rachel, have been active in teaching or in administration of Christian schools since 1961.

If you live in the Cobb/Cherokee/Bartow county area and want to enhance your Bible skills, whether desiring college credit or an increase in your own Bible knowledge, consider Atlanta Baptist College North. Contact the church office for an information packet.

Purpose and Philosophy

Atlanta Baptist College North came to fruition as a result of a growing conviction that spiritually and geographically a real need existed for fundamental Bible education in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The congregation of the Liberty Baptist Tabernacle in Stockbridge, Georgia has been used of the Lord to meet this need.

The purpose of this institution is to provide quality, low-cost education for those who desire to work in a church ministry or to simply increase their knowledge of the Bible. The programs offered are designed to meet the needs of students seeking positions in the ministry or to better equip themselves to serve in the local church. In addition to a program designed for the normal full-time student, this institution desires to specifically meet the needs of the married and employed student.

The philosophy of ABC is based upon the Scriptural emphasis of the local church. We believe that the plan for training those called to the Gospel ministry which is nearest to that of the New Testament is that to this end that ABC seeks to provide the academic training in the classroom, while allowing the student to receive his practical training in the ministry in his own local church. We desire simply to assist our fundamental independent Baptist churches in the Atlanta area in achieving this goal.

While this institution readily accepts any born-again Christian on a non-discriminatory basis, all students must willingly comply with school policies. Furthermore, it must be realized that the same in philosophy of the chartering church, namely that of the historic fundamental Baptist position as stated in the doctrinal section.
