Harvest Baptist Church operates two academic programs – Harvest Baptist School (HBC) and North Atlanta Evening School of the Bible (NAESB). (Obtain full information about HBS by clicking on the link to the HBC web site located on the left side of this page.) NAESB offers adult education classes in Bible and Bible related subjects to educate the individual adult or teen believer in their quest for a deeper knowledge of God’s Word. The classes are designed for both new believers or seasoned saints. Two basic goals are established in Scripture for the local church – the evangelization of the lost and the edifying of the believer. The later half of that scope includes ministries like the North Atlanta Evening School of the Bible. Challenged by the Word of God to “Search the Scriptures . . .” and “Study to show thyself approved . . .”, NAESB assists in helping the individual Christian achieve those goals. Only through a constant program of learning and applying the Word of God to our life can believers hope to be victorious over the world, the flesh, and the devil. Working in cooperation with Crown College, an independent Baptist college located in Powell, TN, 12 Bible or Bible-related courses are offered in a two year cycle, culminating in a Recognition of Achievement award from Crown College upon completion. Subjects such as Bible Study Methods, Baptist Distinctives, and Old and New Testament Survey provide a good foundation for effective learning. All classes are taught by staff members of Harvest Baptist Church or by individuals who are veterans of the gospel ministry. Classes are small and personal to allow maximum class participation. The cost is minimal to prevent finances from being a major obstacle.
Harvest Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church committed to confirming and propagating the Biblical truths and principles found in the Word of God that has been handed down by our forefathers, men who stood for righteousness and who were willing to give their lives for these truths we believe today. It is our confirmation that the authorized King James Bible (KJV) is the authoritative and preserved Word of God. We reject many of the current versions of the Scriptures as being nothing more than an individual’s, or group of individuals, interpretation of the Bible provided in modern day English. Such versions are based on errant and unreliable manuscripts and documents and are not true and accurate translations. The KJV is based on the most reliable documents – mainly the Textus Receptus and the Maesoretic Text. Therefore, all classes at NAESB use the KJV as its primary text. Having established that fact, the instructors at NAESB are not prohibited from using other sources that base their development upon the KJV. Many godly commentators of the past have provided a wealth of material to help the individual Christian better understand the Scriptures. We cannot rule out the wisdom that God gave to these contributors nor ignore the knowledge they sought to pass on to later generations. It is important, however, that reliable and trustworthy sources be used to help in the quest for a greater knowledge of God, God’s Word, and God’s dealing with men.
